Coming out as Gay or Lesbian has challenges.
It’s especially challenging for those in a conservative environment or family, where being queer in any way is not accepted.
It can be a scary prospect to embrace who you are, come out, and start to live openly.
For example, a Modern-Orthodox Jewish man was afraid to come out because, even though he knew he was gay, he was afraid it would impact the prospects of his younger sister finding a husband if it were known she had a gay brother.
All of this can make you feel bad about yourself.
It’s just not easy to do alone, but you don’t have to do it alone.
Sometimes, you need someone who understands to help you discuss all the possibilities and fears. This can include feeling bad about yourself for being gay, and the difficulty of the idea of entering into a still-discriminated-against group.
I’m a psychodynamically informed therapist who can be there for you as you decipher what’s right for you. I’m good at helping you see the road (not pushing you down it).
It can also help to understand your relationships with family members so that you can identify where you feel stuck.

Your living an authentic life matters.
I’m here to help.
